The Registry contains information that Windows continually references during operations such as setting profiles for each user, details about the applications installed on your computer and the types of documents that an application can create, what all hardware exists in the system, the ports that are being used, etc. So, it’s quite logical to take periodic backups of Registry so that, if needed, you can restore a good and working Registry if it gets corrupted. ‘Regbak’ helps you with this. Using this ‘light-weight’ and extremely simple utility, you can create backups of Registry files to a location of your choice and restore these files at a later date. How to Use Start ‘Regbak’. Set the folder to which registry files are to be backup-ed. The default backup folder created is ‘Regbak’ inside your ‘Windows’ folder. But you can set your own locations. Great Video as always. How does this program compare to Combofix? Combofix has been a lifesaver for me on more than one occasion by saving and restoring win-xp installations. You did a video on combofix quite sometime ago and I can’t thank you enough for that program. Thanks again. lg
I’ve used this Command Prompt thing on the recovery console a few months ago when Windows won’t boot because there was no bootoader after I removed my Linux. I had to use the command line thing to get to that program that makes Linuxes bootable on a USB drive so when I got that to run, I got me Linux into a bootable USB and reinstalled it along with the bootloader and that made Windows 7 detectable on bootup and running again.
*Shit Hot* Brian, thanks mate
Cheers Brian :-)
Yeah I have used Erunt for many years, its is just another option.
Yeah you could use System Restore, but this is another option in-case that don’t work. Its really just another safety net for people to use.

@101AOK @101AOK You could try Mini Tool Power Data Recovery yourself. BUT some files MAYBE ok, but others MAY not. Every hdd will fail at some point and thats why everyone should backup. For pictures i just use blank dvds as you can buy 100’s for a few quid. Anyway as i have lost data in the past i wish you good luck.

You’re great. Know anyone who can retrieve a hard drive. My tech says he can only retrieve “some” files. Another told me if you can retrieve some you should be able to get all of it. I have pics of a late friend on it and some MASTER audio tracks that I can’t do without. Thanks for your vids, most are way past my ability but I still look on.
