so, you seem pretty smart. maybe you can help. im helping my friend clear her hard drive on her macbook pro.. using the snow leopard OS X DVD… well, we’ve forgot to hold down c the first time, and this time its making us do this whole installation thing that takes 50 minutes AGAIN. think this means she didnt have the DVD installe int he first place? so frustrating.
I’m on 10.6.8. I bought the laptop off craigslist and they don’t remember the admin password. Is there a work around? The computer will not boot into disk.

Hey, please help me out!! I followed your instruction. My macbook pro is 13″, 128gb SSD , 2.4 ghz dual core. 8GB RAM. i followed your instruction by pressing the alt key when turning on the macbook pro, then clicked on the “Mac OS X install dvd”, and then the circle or apple loading picture came then after.that “you need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button untill it turns off, then press the Power button again”. I bought the Snow leopard n it didnt work 🙁 im so sad pls help me

hey man, i get an error message saying ” the installer could not copy necessary support files” any ideas?
you should be able to but don’t know what to tell you on how to do this did you press C? with the disc in you imac? or did you press Alt and select the snowleopard disk?
I messed up my iMac… I installed lion on it and now it won’t let me reinstall snow leopard.. If I do this can I go back to snow leopard?? Thanks in advance

ccleaner only helps a bit, the only way to make the pc faster is reinstalling the OS or get an ssd, the hdd was always the bottleneck in you’re pc

3.DELETE WINDOWS FOLDER
4.THEN RESTART THE COMPUTER
